2020 HSC Results

The results of the 2020 cohort in the HSC exams are testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration between themselves and their teachers. At the beginning of the year, a target of 200 Band 6s for the 200th year of the school was set for the boys. Whilst COVID intervened, the HSC class did amazingly well and, despite falling just short of this target, acquitted themselves exceptionally well! It is also important to note that a number of students successfully pursued a vocational pathway with every student achieving ALL their competencies and desired level of certification (most of whom have achieved between 4 and 6 nationally recognised certifications). Congratulations again to all members of the 2020 HSC Cohort. A breakdown of the exam results are given below.

2020 Higher School Certificate Results

Parramatta Marist High School has again performed with distinction in the Higher School Certificate, achieving some of our best results to date in the NSW HSC. Parramatta Marist is ranked 46th - within the state’s top 100 performing schools for the fourteenth consecutive year. We ranked 16th overall in Mathematics Advanced/Extension, 36th overall in Standard Mathematics. We also ranked 16th in Standard English and 18th in Advanced/Extension English overall. Our students achieved 8% above the state average (marks) across all courses. In the 2020 HSC, of the 712 exams sat by all students, PMH students recorded 190 Band 6s; this equates to an all-time best ratio of 26.69% of all students achieving 90% or above in their exams. Additionally, 73% of students achieved a band 5 or 6 (80% or more) in their exams and 95% of students achieved either a band 4, 5 or 6 (70% or more in their exams).

Distinguished Achievers

Ninety of our students received a Band 6 in one or more subjects. This means that the load was shared across a large percentage of those students who sat exams. This is very pleasing and shows both our love of (hard) work and our family spirit as a Marist community.
