Today, our Year 8 SRC and Mission Leaders organised today's message as part of their pastoral program in an effort to educate our community and break the cycle of Domestic Violence. This followed their leadership in presenting their message at an assembly last term and in discussions with Seniors who have been highlighting this issue both locally and globally.
After the midday prayer today, Year 8 SRC Leaders read a short paragraph to our students, showed a video they wrote and produced before reflecting during a school-wide minute silence. The video is powerful, recognising that this is seen through the eyes of Year 8 students.
Last year, our senior students lobbied the United Nations and this year to the Federal Government on recommendations they researched and presented to help bring about change in understanding Domestic Violence in Australia. The amount of research the students had done and articulated so sophisticatedly is a credit to them.
Here we see fine examples of our boys becoming Men of Marist in the Way of Mary.
