After powering through the qualifying round, the team earned a place in the National finals, tasked with the design of a research settlement on Mars, capable of providing infrastructure for future human exploration and planetary expansion. Yesterday, we recognised our 43 high achievers from the Class of 2020 and congratulate them all on their outstanding HSC results. Our School Dux for 2020 Nash Hawkins (pictured) addressed the assembly with warmth, highlighting the respect, hard work & dedication the students, parents & teachers had shown in what was a challenging year for all. The results of the 2020 cohort in the HSC exams are testament to the hard work, dedication and collaboration between themselves and their teachers. At the beginning of the year, a target of 200 Band 6s for the 200th year of the school was set for the boys. Whilst COVID intervened, the HSC class did amazingly well and, despite falling just short of this target, acquitted themselves exceptionally well! It is also important to note that a number of students successfully pursued a vocational pathway with every student achieving ALL their competencies and desired level of certification (most of whom have achieved between 4 and 6 nationally recognised certifications). On behalf of the Parramatta Marist community, we wish to congratulate Dean Jacobson in achieving First Place in the state for the HSC course: Studies of Religion 1. This is a tremendous achievement and well deserved. Well done Dean.
Parramatta Marist High School Year 11 student Dean Jacobson has topped Studies in Religion 1 course in the 2020 HSC. Nearby Cerdon College Merrylands student Paula Kahwajy topped the State in Drama. Each year the school participates in the Vinnies Christmas Appeal to raise much needed food and supplies for those struggling in our community. This year, The St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal saw the students collect an overwhelming amount of food for the most vulnerable within our community. The generosity of the students during this difficult time, including some of our own families, was phenomenal. Mr John Chandran sent a thank you message to the boys which was played at the Advent Liturgy. Read more...
For the past month, 6 students from Parramatta Marist High School have been researching and preparing recommendations to delegates at the United Nations Permanent Mission in Geneva through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Read more...
