On Monday, 25 March, the F1 in Schools 2019/20 season was launched at Parramatta Marist in style.

Mr Pauschmann (Principal) and Dr Bateman (Head of Maths and Science) raced their own aerodynamic masterpieces head to head down the 20 metre track, which ran down the middle of assembly.

Dr Bateman’s “Flying Doctor” won the first heat, with an extremely fast reaction time. Despite this promising start, the doctor was ultimately undone by the green and gold blur of Mr Pauschmann’s “Mark One”, which took out the inaugural title with a lightning raw time of 1.206 seconds. Incredibly high standards have been set for our newly formed F1 teams to meet and exceed.

Special thanks must go to Toby Bellew, Callum Blaik and Jacob Monks for setting up the track, and to Mr Barry-Donnellan for adding a splash of colour with his commentary.

Who’ll dare to challenge Mr Pauschmann in 2020?
