Buddies // The Marist Bond As our Year 12 boys prepare to graduate next week, Year 7 and Year 12 Buddies recently came together so that Year 7 could gift prayer cards and rosary beads to their Year 12 buddy ahead of their upcoming exams and graduation. Leadership // Investiture Ceremony This morning, the Parramatta Marist community gathered with the families of our incoming leaders to formally inaugurate the 2027 Prefects and House Leaders. The ceremony marked a new chapter of service and responsibility, highlighted by the symbolic passing of candles from outgoing to incoming Prefects, representing the passing of wisdom, light and responsibility from one generation of leaders to the next. Our 2027 School Captain and Vice-Captains also delivered their first address, sharing their vision for a culture grounded in brotherhood, compassion, approachability and service. As our Year 11 students prepare to become the senior students of the school, they were presented with their Year 12 ties by Principal Dr Gavin Hays FTGN and Year 11 Coordinator Mrs Erin Smith, symbolising their responsibility to lead through their actions, choices and example. The morning also marked the conclusion of the 2025–2026 House Cup, with Campion House crowned winners with 23,201 points. The cup was presented to outgoing Campion House Leaders Jack C and Benjamin R, while the top three individual point contributors from each House were also recognised for their outstanding contributions across Learning, Co-curricular Life and Service. A morning of recognising the leaders who have served, celebrating the contributions of our community, and welcoming those who will lead us forward in 2027. #parramarist #fortiorito

Marist Staff Spotlight // Mrs Rebecca Cornwall With 22 years in education, including 20 years teaching in a Marist school and two years at Parramatta Marist, Mrs Rebecca Cornwall brings a wealth of experience, creativity and passion to our community. Having previously worked as a Head of Department for Creative Arts and Languages, as well as teaching HSC Dance and Drama, Religion, HSIE and Japanese, Mrs Cornwall now teaches Year 7 Diversity and Science while also serving as Year 7 Coordinator. A key part of her work at Marist is coordinating our Japanese cultural exchange programs. By welcoming students from Japan and helping facilitate cultural connections, Mrs Cornwall provides our students with opportunities to build friendships and develop appreciation for different cultures. For Mrs Cornwall, teaching extends far beyond imparting knowledge. It is about inspiring young people to embrace life, believe in themselves and discover their potential, creating connections and moments that can help shape who they become. Outside the classroom, Mrs Cornwall loves staying active and spending time outdoors, particularly running and camping. She enjoys setting herself new challenges and has completed two Half Ironman 70.3km events; 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike ride and 21.1 km run. Did you know Mrs Cornwall is a trained RAD classical ballet dancer who has danced professionally overseas in Japan? And if you find Mrs Cornwall in the Year 7 yard, you may even find her joining the boys for a game of handball where, by her own admission, the competition can get quite serious! Thank you, Mrs Cornwall, for the experience, energy and passion you bring to the Marist community. #parramarist #fortiorito #makeitmatter
