For a number of years, our Catholic community has been working together on a new approach to sharing faith with children and young people in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. On Thursday 3 June 2021, an updated version of the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta draft new curriculum for Religious Education was released in response to feedback from clergy, parents, teachers, students and friends, including experts in theology, scripture and Religious Education. Olympics Unleashed Former Olympic swimmer David McKeon presented to the Year 10 students about working hard to achieve your goals, following your passion and overcoming challenges. David competed at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics in the 400m freestyle and 4 x 200m freestyle relay event and was an inspiration to listen to.
Catholic students from across the country have joined together in a video performance of the national song ‘Faith in the Future’, to celebrate 200 years of Catholic education in Australia, which marks the anniversary of the first official Catholic school opened in Parramatta in October 1820. Year 10 travelled to Mulgoa as part of the PMH tradition that is Formation Day. The day was spent undertaking team building activities as a cohort and focussing on their year group Pillar: A Love of Work. A combined Catherine McAuley Westmead and Parramatta Marist High team recently competed in the National Final of the Formula 1 in schools competition. The team, known as PRISM, consists of Jared So, Natasha Muttoo, Ethan So and Diederik Lubbers worked together in a bid to develop the world’s fastest miniature Formula 1 car. Read more...
