Write a Book in a Day is an inclusive and creative competition designed to bring about collaboration in the spirit of awareness around kids our age battling cancer.
The competition allows for students in Years 5 – 12 to create books that are gifted to childrens’ hospitals around the country in an aim to spark some joy in a patient’s taxing daily life. As a school we produced two books that day and raised $670 which will go directly to fund scientific research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for childhood cancer.
Sharing our ideas and what we had crafted gave us a sense of pride and we thought: “We hope the kids reading this get the same feeling of happiness that we all got making it”. The two books that we wrote and illustrated will be uploaded to an online library for children in hospitals around Australia. Shujay & Matteo, Year 10
