Year 7 STEM students commenced their Everyone Can Play project

Year 7 STEM students commenced their Everyone Can Play project where they are asked to create an inclusive recreational space that incorporates universal design principles so that all are welcome to play.

As part of this project, students explored a local playground to assess the inclusivity of the park following the principles of “Can I get there? Can I stay? Can I play?”.

They also partook in a zoom session with Julie Marler, co-principal of Phillips & Marler and principal landscape architect of the award winning Paperbark Playspace in Parramatta Park.

The students enjoyed conversing with an industry professional to gain a better understanding of the real world applications of the project whilst also being able to bring a sense of play into the classroom.
