On Monday 22nd of October, Parramatta Marist was fortunate to have two special guests join us for our assembly.
We had Gus Worland, Media Personality and Gotcha 4 Life Founder as well as Steve Smith, Former Captain of the Australian Cricket Team and Gotcha 4 Life Ambassador. They shared their experiences about the importance of vulnerability, honesty and social connectedness.
Students had the opportunity to ask a question to Steve about his journey during his suspension. Steve’s message of openness and the importance of a solid support network left the assembly inspired.
In addition to the talk, Steve Smith presented our A grade cricketers with their caps, a moment I’m sure they cherish for many years to come. If you would like to see more of the assembly, It will feature in a segment on Fox Cricket’s new show “Cricket Tragic” next month.
