Success rarely follows a single path. At Parramatta Marist High School, three brothers are proving that excellence is not defined by one talent, one passion or one pursuit. While they share the same surname and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity, each has forged his own identity, demonstrating that individuality and achievement can go hand in hand.
School Vice-Captain Simon Forsyth, alongside his younger twin brothers, Aiden and Liam of Year 8, have each embraced school life in distinctly different ways. Whether on the sporting field, on the stage or in the classroom, their interests may vary, but their dedication, character and willingness to contribute to the Marist community remain remarkably consistent.
Since starting Year 7 in 2021, Year 12 student Simon has embraced every opportunity to lead and contribute to the Parramatta Marist community. Serving as Year 11 Vinnies House Captain and currently as School Vice-Captain, he has become an increasingly visible presence in school life, leading with humility, integrity and a genuine commitment to those around him. Beyond the classroom, Simon has represented PMH with distinction in A Grade Soccer, at a NSWCCC level, while also competing in PDSSSC Cross Country. His willingness to lead and serve the school exemplifies the well-rounded character that Parramatta Marist strives to foster.
Reflecting on his leadership journey and the lessons he has learnt along the way, Simon shared:
Leadership has taught me that everyone brings something different to the table. My brothers and I all have our own talents, interests, and personalities, but that’s what makes our bond so special. We always support each other, learn from one another, and no matter how different we are, we’ll always have each other’s backs.
Liam in Year 8 has forged his own unique path, combining academic excellence with a passion for the performing arts. An accomplished national dancer, he demonstrates the discipline, creativity and confidence required to excel beyond the classroom, while his commitment to his studies has earned him four Academic Awards, including first place in Catholic Studies. His study of French and active involvement in Rosary further reflect his curiosity and faith. By embracing the diverse opportunities available at Parramatta Marist, he has become a well-rounded student whose talents extend far beyond any one pursuit.

One of the defining strengths of a Parramatta Marist education is the opportunity for every student to pursue their passions and excel in the areas that inspire them most. By providing a diverse range of pathways and opportunities, students are empowered to discover their strengths, unlock their potential and achieve success in ways that reflect their individual talents and aspirations.
For Year 8 student Aiden, involvement has centred around his passion for sport and his growing contribution to school life. A valued member of the Junior B Soccer team, he has demonstrated commitment, teamwork and determination both on and off the field. His election to the Student Representative Council further reflects his willingness to contribute beyond sport, while his strong academic performance, including his study of Advanced Mathematics and achieving first place in Physical Education, highlights a student who approaches every opportunity with enthusiasm and dedication.
Mrs Nicole Denniss, Assistant Principal of Catholic Identity and Mission, reflected on the remarkable achievements of the three students, linking them to our Marist Charism by stating:
The Forsyth brothers truly embody the Marist Charism. They are always present, lead with love in all they do, foster a genuine family spirit, and live with the compassion and humility of Mary, our Good Mother.
Despite their different pursuits, the brothers share a deep appreciation for the opportunities afforded to them at Parramatta Marist. From academic learning and co-curricular involvement to the friendships and values that shape everyday life, each has embraced his own journey in a way that reflects his unique interests and aspirations. Above all, that is The Family Resemblance.
